About me

Valerie holds a BA (Hons) Degree in Counselling with Addictions and is a fully trained Human Givens psychotherapist with over 8 years’ experience in Northern Ireland. She has gained experience working with people across the community with charities and organisations including those in recovery in residential treatment and sees clients privately by appointment.

From the first session, clients are supported to understand their symptoms, feel safe and reassured, and explore thoughts and emotions in a non-judgemental space. Valerie uses a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches focused on emotional regulation, problem-solving, and practical change, tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.

Valerie is a member of the Human Givens Institute and meets the ethical guidelines and standards of the PSA-accredited register in line with NICE guidelines. She is also a member of Addiction Counsellors Ireland (ACI), Human Givens Ireland, and the Irish Association of Clinical Psychotherapy (IACP).
